Wa Wa TLaWC Members,
Join us at Nagambie in February 2024 for a family friendly water knowledge camp. Spread over two events, you can choose to attend one or both. We look forward to spending time with you on Country to talk all things Baan (water).
DATES: Friday 9th February – Wednesday 14th February 2024.
Based in Nagambie, time will be spent participating in a range of fun, all aged accessible water activities over the weekend. The extended event will include cultural waterway assessments and other opportunities to get involved with TLaWC’s work to care for Water Country through its cultural water program. The event will also be an opportunity to connect with Taungurung’s water knowledge group Baan Ganalina (Guardians of Water)
Activities planned include:
- Pontoon boat tours, kayaking, stand up paddle boards and more. An option for everyone to spend some time on the water.
- Connect with Taungurung culture at important places like Reedy Lake, Horseshoe Lagoon and Waring (the Goulburn River)
- Participate in reading country activities like cultural waterway assessments, and yarn about how we can best heal and care for water Country.
- Discuss Baan Ganalina activities and other opportunities to get involved with the cultural water program.
